In the making and delayed for over two years, this collection of free thinking progressions and mutations of hip hop is here at last. Compiled by Long Distance Dan via various sources of talent it draws in producers and artists with something different to offer. Twisting The Frame delves into the leftfield, takes you through sounds from multiple subgenres with intrumentals and vocal tracks. It boasts and allstar cast of names that are familiar and some not so, with rising stars like Buddy Peace, WrongTom, 2tall, Remdog, sasQwax, 2econd Class Citizen and a host of other beat making contemporaries. From lo-fi to electronica tinged tracks this is a fresh and free twist of what can be collectively termed hip hop.

2econd Class Citizen’s emergence on the scene has created a buzz of anticipation from a diverse collection of music circles. The young man from London, England (originally from Somerset and raised in Huddersfield) makes music that he simply calls “Wyred Folk”: a hybrid of electronically produced folk combined with instrumental hip hop. Swinging between melancholy and pure anger, strong guitar riffs mined from old psych rock records and the weeping voices lifted from old folk music, he seems to find his real home in a crate of old and dusty vinyl.
2tall is a London based producer, DJ and performer. He is known in certain circles for his forward thinking hip hop production and live turntablism shows. His latest album 'The Softer Diagram' was released earlier this year on Content Records (LA). A track titled 'Scatterclocks' appears on the 'Bleep loves ... labels' compilation free from bleep.com for a limited period.
Ambulance Chasers is the collaborative two man project of Andy Zuk and Pete Gleadall aka sasQwax. A track 'GHC' appears on the 'Home Entertainment' compilation on the mighty 2600 Recordings.

"Thank you as always to Killa Henry for the overseeing, and crazy thanks to Long Distance Dan for the invitation and co-ordination. It's a pretty scary feeling thinking about how quickly the year has passed since the 'Inspired By Boards Of Canada' compilation that Myuzyk hooked up around this time last year, but it's been an amazing and ridiculously busy one. So much has happened. I'm glad that I finally had the chance to do something with 'Septuhseemeeuh' - I've had the rough draft on MPC Zip discs for a while now, but it was great to load it up and make it shine right like it should for this compilation. Ialways like to mess with intros for one-off projects and I like to have some sense of establishment first, then at the end some form of closure. I went kinda nuts on this one but it sets the tone like I wanted it to. I like to think of it as bittersweet rather than moody but whatever you get from it, thanks for checking the comp and holler if you feel it. Thanks so much! That was a bit matter-of-fact I know, but I hope you enjoy the track. Thank you!" Buddy Peace
Dave Graham is a composer and multi-mentalist based in London. He is a founder member of both orchestral-doom merchants Regolith and avant-pop duo Cnut. Although he has played to confused audiences across Europe , these days he's usually too grumpy to play live, and has to be prodded with sticks to make him unleash another terrifying project onto the public.
EnglishBore is
the pretentious ambient soundscape sonic-art drone minimalism
glitch and whatever else pseudonym of John Amino, head of Sounds Asleep Records. The idea was born from a love of messing about with effects,
repetition, distortion, static, delay, reverb rather than actually
being able to write music or play an instrument. The sound of music
breaking down perhaps. Or not.

With a unbelievable knack for finding rare samples in the strangest of places and twisting em like spliffs, the music, like a time machine will instantly take you back to times when hip hop had a soul.

Wrongtom is an avid shopper, trudging the worlds flea markets searching for the perfect varsity jacket, sherwanis and a prog rock album here and there. Whilst totting up airmiles he often stops off to entertain C-list celebrity attended aftershows with a hot selection of sea shanties and B-more bootlegs before schmoozing up the nearest A&R man for some remix work. Sometimes he stays in his hotel room working on ill fated film scripts about cannibals and tranvestites but ultimately returns home as he knows his place; behind a mixing desk producing anything from dislocated dub to chart topping indie-pop.
