Mark Scanlan has two albums released through his own Dumb Hero Records and to spice things up a little he gave the parts from tracks on last year's 'Tones, Drones & Broken Bones' to a team of allies and associates on remix duty. A dash of Nordic magic from P.E.R. takes 'She Binds Books' on a shimmery folk-house expedition whilst Jose Bee immerses elements of '1985' into a low slung formula of brass and sparse beats. Posthuman's remix of the same track goes off into slightly retro sounding four to the floor territory, followed by Kelp reworking 'The Whisky Fist' as a snarling beast spitting out distortion into a bed of shuddering bass. Madslo gives a murky hip hop edge with a choice of superb drums on his remix; finishing up with another crunchy version of 'The Whisky Fist' and a Dumb Hero dub from K.A.L.
