The man behind File With Interpol, Tony Stone, grew up as a child of the
psych, greasey and Krautrock movements. Stone’s collective of personas have
over the years turned to face hip hop, house, reggae, acid and electronica to
name but a few genres. Through his unbridled love and great understanding of
these uncompromising forms of music he has been more than able to break down
boundaries with his own walls of sound that are made on a daily basis. The
catalogue of his released music acts as a testament to a producer who has
matured from the early days of working with DJ Hype and The Scientist for the
infamous Kickin Records label. From these beginnings Stone set an eclectic
agenda enabling him to produce a range of releases taking in everything from
abstract sounds via the Mongolian Tourist Board and Earworm Labels, hard acid
techno on Flagbearer to sublime drum and bass on the Hard Leaders imprint.
Now also recording for the Tyke/Rebel Bass and Deskjob
labels.
'File With Interpol – Northern Borders' album (MZYKN005) is released
Monday 3rd March.
